Prof. Paik, alumni, and IPIS members had a 2015 Year-End Bash on December 4.  

Prof. Paik and IPIS members have attended the 2015 IEIE fall conference on November 27, 2015 in Oakvalley Resort, Wonju, Korea. Also IPIS members have made their papers public at the conference.   

Camera and CMOS Image Sensor Technology Workshop was held in Kyunghee Universitiy. IPIS members participated in there, and studied the recent developments and issues of camera system and image sensor.  

IPIS is recruiting applications in next semester. We are studying image enhancement, restoration, super-resolution, computational photography, optical simulation, 3D image and video synthesis, video analysis and tracking and so on. For more information, please contact us.   

From October 25 to 29, Art&Technology Exhibition was held.Mikang Kim,Semi Jeon,Jaehoon Jung and SeungYong Ko exhibited their works.  After months of hard work, their efforts finally came to fruition.  

Semi Jeon, SeungYong Ko and Jaehoon Jung are going to participate in ICCE 2016 conference in Las Vegas with their papers accepted by IEEE.They now plan to make their papers public for the conference. Congratulations !    

Semi Jeon, a master student in IPIS, was elected as the chief of the laboratory for the second semester of 2015. She has made a promise of providing culture life to the laboratory members regularly. Congratulations!   

Freshmen of this semester, Jieun Jo, Hasil Park, Byeongho Moon, and Sangwoo Park have started the first semester. Welcome to IPIS!     

Yoonjong Yoo has received the Ph.D degree from the graduate school of advanced imaging science, multimedia, and film at chung-ang university on 21 august 2015. Also, Hejin Cheong, Hyungtae Kim, and Seokhwa Jeong have received the MS degree. Congratulations!   

IPIS Laboratory has held pre-semester seminar about digital image processing for freshmen every vacation. Jaehoon Jung, a master student in IPIS, has made a presentation about wavelets and multiresolution processing in front of IPIS members. Also, seminars on pattern recognition and restoration have been held in this summer break.   

Since last year, IPIS has been manufacturing camera components by 3D printer, which is to build extensive research for image processing. In order to retrofit a special device between a lens and camera-body, we finally made an adapter.

IPIS prepared a special gift to celebrate the anniversary of the day Prof. Paik was born. We used the photograph taken at year-end party in 2011, and we made it into the pieces of puzzle with a message of long and happy life for him. Lastly, we all have our particular thanks to his guidance in our study.   

Prof. Paik and IPIS members have attended the ITC-CSCC 2015 on June 29~ July 2, 2015 in Seoul, Korea.Also Seungyong Go, Jaehoon Jung, and Semi Jeon have made their papers public at the conference.   

Prof. Paik and IPIS members have attended the 2015 IEIE summer conference on June 21~24, 2015 in Jeju island, Korea. Also Seungyong Go, Jaehoon Jung, Semi Jeon, Hasil Park, and Hajin Choi have made their papers public at the conference.  

SeungYong Go, a master student in IPIS, has made a presentation about example-based low-light image enhancement using neural network for driver assistance systems in front of Prof. Paik and IPIS members for the upcoming 2015 IEIE summer conference. Also Mikang Kim, Jaehoon Jung, Semi Jeon, and Hasil Park have successfully given presentations about their papers.   

Memorial Day, Hyeonchung-il, is held every June 6th to commemorate the men and women who died while in military service during the Korean War. On this day, a memorial ceremony is held in the National Cemetery in Seoul, starting from 1956. At 10 A.M. on Memorial Day, a siren rings all over the country, and people have silent prayers for one minute. Also, the South Korean flag is flown at half-staff.  

Asia Media Arts Festival (AMFM) focusing on new media art, its contents, and technology will be help between May 22 - 28, 2015, at Chung-Ang University and Soongsil University, Seoul in Korea. We would like to welcome all of you to AMFM!

To celebrate Labor's Day, Prof. Paik and IPIS members had a dinner on May 1, 2015.Jaehoon Jung, one of our master students, took a friendly pose with Prof. Paik.   

Jinbeum Jang and Yoonjong Yoo have made a successful presentation in the final screening for the first year of SK Hynix project. After the judge, Prof. Paik and IPIS members had a great time at the pub, 'Davils Door' to celebrate it.

Recently, one of main documentary television show in Korea called <TV Animal Park> has asked IPIS to help find a missing puppy, so we gladly parcitipated in the investigation. We speculated the height of a suspect by analysing the CCTV images, and the it became an important clue to find the puppy.  

IPIS has a research on various areas, such as image enhancement, restoration, computer vision, and interactive media arts etc. Video tracking is also our concentration. One fine day, we did an experimentation for our ongoing project in video tracking, and freshmen in IPIS willingly helped to record it.  

Freshmen of this semester, Jahoon Jeong, Semi Jeon, and SeungYong Go, has started first semester in IPIS. Welcome to IPIS!   

IPIS has started experimenting with drone, 'Phantom Vision+', for image processing. Click the photo above, you will be able to watch the short film shooting with the drone.  

Inhye Yoon has won an award for excellence from IPIU conference. The title of her paper is 'Dehazing method for image enhancement of driver assistance systems'.  

Prof. Paik, Minseo Kim, Semi Jeon, Suhwan Yoo, Jinbum Jang and Inhae Yun have attended ICEIC 2015 conference conducted by IEEE and they have made their papers public at the conference.
